Erik wanted to dislike Professor Xavier. Mostly, he figured, because everyone else loved the man, gravitated towards him.

So did Erik, really. Gravitated, that was. He'd bow to the fact that his contact had been right. Professor Xavier knew what he was talking about when it came to mutations.

So, Erik had decided that he could work with that, work with the professor. He hadn't expected to spend personal time in private with Charles, playing chess, having friendly, if occasionally heated debates.

Professor Xavier drew everyone's attention, Charles drew Erik's - and he found he was quite alright with that.
