Day 3 - Alcester to Cardiff

Now, day 3 went very well. We ate a big breakfast across from the Travlodge at the Little Chef's. Then we went our seperate ways (after making sure we'd chased everyone else off by being... well , us LOL). Nicci and I dropped [personal profile] toastedtoad in Stratford at the Morrisson's so she could have a bit of coffee beore she caught her train.

Nicci and I, not wanting to pay toll to get into Wales, drove up and around the top of the river Severn. It would have been okay if there hadn't been a minor traffic accident and we had to be diverted onto some odd B road, driving almost behind a rather large lorry. And there were parts of the road with more than a little flooding. We finally made it down to Cardiff and although we managed to do a slight detour into the Butetunnel, we realized right away and got turned around on the other side and the Travelodge was located without any problems.

After checking in, we went for a walk and stupid as I was, I forgot my scarf and I now pay for that with a cold. Fully medicated, I bring you pictures of Cardiff bay at night. At least some of it, as I was bloody freezing!

Had to steady the camera on the edge of the pool because my hands were shaking a bit in the cold XD

The pillars on the plass were beautifully lit up.

The monument came out nicely as well, but this night, as in the summer when we were there, there was no water running down it.
