I am, probably, one of the slowest people of the Stargate fandom *snerk*
I have, repeatedly, tried to read Anais' Dr. Jackson's Diary. I now know what I was missing... I had never (and please ignore that I used to work in a bookstore...) read Bridget Jones' Diary... Never caught the movie... Stole my sister's worn our pb version the other day, read it in half a day. And NOW I get it. (Oh, and I remember why I normally read the original versions and not the danish translations...)

::tries to sneak a chapter of Jackson's diary in without [livejournal.com profile] swtalmnd noticing -- I know I'm supposed to be writing...::

::fears she'll be bouncing off the walls in an hour or so from too much caffeine::

I've never seen/read Bridget Jones' diary but I've loved Anais' Dr Jackson's Diary since the first month appeared. You're not the only one to not read it until recently, I remember Ozy's reaction to it a few weeks ago :)

It was the humour I had trouble wrapping my mind around -- oddly enough some of it is too subtle for me to pick up -- not because I can't, but because I've stopped looking for that kind of humour in fanfic. The humour beneath the visible humour and silliness. So now? I'm just glad i have lots of fic to read *g*
