I have my reasons for never ever touching Domestic Dicipline fics -- I mean, everyone's got their kinks -- I've got mine, you've got yours, but still...

Just read a fic that I have to label as the worst ever SG fic I've read. I mean, Daniel spends appx 75% of the story sobbing, crying and asking for forgiveness -- and he keeps making mistakes that even a freaking teenager wouldn't make more than once.

Now, I wonder if the writer wanted to state that he does it on purpose because in reality he likes being diciplined... I just don't think so, because there's nothing in the rest of the fic that justifies that line of thinking...

So... now I'll go hunt down some humour fic -- I NEED something else -- I need to go find something where Daniel is in character -- because lord knows, I can't stand it when writers make him feminine and submissive. I mean, look at him, he stands up to Goa'uld system lords and he rarely lets Jack dictate his actions, unless it's in the line of fire.

Oh, and did I mention I hate Sideburns? Nothing heartfelt, but come ON! Starting a WIP on the AG list... it's painful to have to wait (yeah yeah, I was a pain in the mikta during xmas as a child too *g*)

Incarcerated (http://www.area52hkh.net/smonkey/incarcerated.php) -- dunno, it might just be me who's a tad bit sensitive... -- and searching there ARE warnings for it, but still..

Well, 1) the story is extremely poorly written. the bolding and caps and the dialogue isn't natural at all

2) the story doesn't make ANY sense

i don't have a problem with daniel crying, but it's not explained at all why jack would discipline daniel in the first place, or why he had so many speeding tickets and whatnot unpaid, AND why he was thrown in jail.... and what's with the pictures? nobody has "documents" in their stories.

Good, that means i'm not the only one feeling odd about the story *g* -- I don't have a problem with Daniel crying either, as long as there is a darned good reason for it *g*

Let me know when you find something funny, I could use the laughs. Too much fucking MarySue out there...too much girly Daniel and strong Jack. *growls*

it's funny you should mention that...cos i read THE worst discipline sg fic *ever* the other day but i won't name it and i did not even complain on LJ (for the simple reason that i wouldn't like seeing someone doing that on one of my fics)...anyways, i did complain to my best friend on the phone, heh heh. it could be the same fic, who knows.

DITTO! complained about that too to my best friend on the phone. whined and bitched about it even.

I can handle critisism of my fics, so I don't mind mentioning other fics on my LJ *g* -- What I'm saying is, some might get off on reading/writing this kind of stories, I'm simply stating that I don't understand WHY. Because all I see is a girly Daniel and I kinda shut down -- I can't stand that stuff, just like you say yourself -- I find it dreadful to read a Daniel acting that way.

Another reason why I don't like it when people call slash yaoi. There's quite a difference in how it's done. The fic mentioned bordered more on yaoi than on slash with an overly maskuline character and an submissive feminine character -- hell, I've seen women act with more backbone than that *g*

What I'm saying is, some might get off on reading/writing this kind of stories, I'm simply stating that I don't understand WHY.

Okay, this story WAS bad too, so even if the writer had a valid point to make it kinda got lost in the less-than-average writing. *g*

i bet it's the same story. i will make my best friend read it one day and then we'll see if it really is bad.

Agreed. That fic. was bad. It needed a "badfic" warning more than anything else.

And I will read anything with warnings for D/s, bondage, or BDSM. But that fic? Uh, no.
