Certain people annoy me -- isn't it enough to get Daniel back, can't you just be happy about that? *snerk*

carlachameleon and I were discussing the reactions of *some* people on our dearly beloved lists *eg*Really, how do you propose to have Jack show Daniel he's glad to have him back? There's no time for that.
- Say Jack had hugged Daniel when they first see him? Daniel would've decked him.
- The scene was perfect. It reminded me SO much of the scene in Children of the Gods where Jack brushes past Daniel without acknowledging him.
- after that they're all so caught up in the preparations to fight Anubis, that there's no time.
- *I* liked the ending. *I* liked Jack's way of saying welcome home -- Jack's not a man of words, at least not saying things the way they are when it comes to emotional stuff. In Jack speech that was the way to say: We're glad you're home, come join us off-duty as well as on-duty.

They were touching, witty, hilarious. Beautiful.
Hell, I even liked Jonas in these eps. And that takes a lot.
The sheer ingratitude of some people. Sheesh.

And like you mentioned earlier today, Jack's reaction was one of exuberance by Jack standards.
And his smile, at the end. Beautiful.
They go off to have a celebratory meal, for heaven's sake. What could be better than that?

Even if we are an hour apart it was still satisfying to have one to discuss it with while watching ^_^

BTW, is Jack always that amusingly snarky? I might have to watch this more often if that's the case.

Oh, you need to watch more. You need to watch from season 1 and up, especially season 2 and 3, they bring us some of the most hilarious moments, especially between Jack and Daniel, but their relationship also sets the tone for the entire team. Sam becomes more flexible, more witty, and Teal'c's strange sense of humor fits right in *g*

They're men. They're emotionally restrained when it comes to expressing their feelings toward one another, and this whole situation is very awkward with a lot of extenuating circumstances.
For now, I'll be happy Daniel is back, and I'll read as much as always into their gazes, choppy dialogues, and expressions. =D

Anyway, I so agree with you guys. I, personally, am not as interested when slash is handed to me on a silver platter with accompanying handcuffs and lube. I mean, what's the point, right?
Anyway, yes. ::bounce:: Daniel! And Jack! Daniel/Jack! ::dies a happy slasherchick's death:: I thought what they had was WONDERFUL. "You kept all this stuff when you thought I was dead?" "I may not remember everything...but I remember enough."
On a related note....was anyone else feeling the Jonas/Teal'c vibe? Or was that something I missed in the massive amounts of the last season I missed for some reason or other...?

I melted. I was at a Party--a room filled with about 15 VERY different people, most of whom has never even SEEN the series...I just had to sit and curl my toes quietly with a big silly grin on my face, making eye-contact with the three folks in the room who knew I was reading subtext...*LAUGHS*
YAY!!!
I loved that so many people who had never even seen it before were cheering right along side me. Too Cool.
*sigh*

Jack didn't have to say anything to show his happiness. After a year of him looking increasingly exhausted and bitter... Everything was right there.
I don't think I'm the only one who, with Jack's "I don't want any witnesses" line, thinks he grabbed one errant Daniel by the overalls and hauled him in for a kiss, right?

No! You can count the rest of us in on that one.
Yes, I'm with you on the idea that Jack looked happy -- as happy as you'll see a Jack O'Neill who's grown increasingly distant be. We'll never have the Jack back we saw in Serpent's Lair again. After what they've all been through, how can they ever stay the same? It's what I love about the show. Cause and consequence when it comes to the characters...
Makes you wonder why the people on the lists don't get it -- when most people here in LJ-land DO *g*

To me, the man's heart broke when he let Daniel go. Daniel's back, yes, but he's not who he was, things will not be the same, and it still takes time to heal. Given what MS said at Fan Odyssey, I'm looking forward to seeing how Jack and Daniel rebuild their...well...relationship.

As much as Jack bitched about Daniel before he died, he needs Jackson to balance his own personality and whether or not Jack consciously KNOWS that, who knows? But we've seen the evidence all through the seasons.
