Well... If you know there are dolphins (0r just read the text on the bottle) they're not very hard to find. But I guess the reason why adult people see the couple first, is because they have light colours, and both the dolphins and the background have darker colours.
It's a bit like some maps. If a map has the "wrong" colours it can be hard to tell which part is land, and which is sea, even if you know the land area.
Just a thought...

right you've got to hear this.
i read your fic 'protected' ages ago, i think it was just before you friended me.
months later, i kept remembering that great AU [i've got a kink for AU] fic i read about daniel being the son of a senator or something like that and jack being his bodyguard for a gay pride conference yadda yadda and badly wanted to read it again.
so i looked for it for ages and couldn't find it because well, when i saw your name, i skipped checking that fic because i thought i would have known if it was by you because i know you yadda yadda.
until tonight when i went through EVERY AU summary and tada, there was protected.
::bangs head against screen::
now tell me, how STUPID am i?!

Oh dear. Yeah, well, I rarely do complete SGC-free AUs, so I guess I wouldn't have been among those you'd suspected *g* -- I can't even imagine how many summaries you've gone through... there are a LOT of AUs in this fandom *g*

a whole lot but since i've got an AU kink, i've well, read them all. so i could recognise the ones that were not it immediately.
but since AU also implies quantum mirror [as in still in the SG universe, i like that too though], i thought that maybe yours was that and did not give it any seconds thought.

and yes, i did enjoy it very much =) it's one of my favourite fics, whee!
