DeNile runs high these days
...or I've just been watching SG Evolution pt 2...
Mind you all, this is all just MY interpretation and I'm a woman in denial ^_~ :
You know all the stuff that the others claim is Jack/Sam 'ship? Pffeeeeh. It seems to me that they're merely making ready for Carter to have her own command at some point and the interaction with Jack in the end, well, duh. When you've been working together for so many years, you feel proud and sad at the same time. Proud that she did well and sad that that probably means she'll receive command of a team some time in the near future.
As for the interaction before Jack leaves for Honduras. Jack's worried about sending half of SG 1 off on a suicide like mission and as much as he trusts Carter, it's still difficult to let go of his team. Sam on the other hand. She's bend on making him proud of her because he's basically been her teacher for the past seven years and she's absolutely sure that he'll do good and bring Daniel back to them.
'ship? what 'ship?
And Jack and Daniel? Well, they may only have had little time together here, but I enjoyed what there was, laughed at Daniel's attitude and Burke was a hoot *g* Yeah, he's *definitely* been in Honduras for way too long -- he's completely insane LOL And I loved the Evil Dead joke *g*
Though Teal'c wasn't much in it, I loved the parts where he was *g* -- I like it that he has a more pronounced sense of humour, because you can't seriously hang around people like the rest of SG1 without it rubbing off on you.
::squashes the insane urge to write Jacob/Bra'tac after having watched this ep...::
And the actual end, where Jack asks Sam "Lunch?" Well, see, they all go off the commissary to eat, because Daniel's still hungry. Afterwards Jack's taking Daniel home for some serious pampering with chocolate and coffee and good cooking ::giggles and waits for the S/J shippers to kill her:: Yeah well, whatever they will come up with on the show, I don't care ::shrugs:: I'll never be anything but a slasher and my OTP will always be Jack/Daniel -- and even if the show does otherwise, that's what we've got fanfic for, and if all else fails, there's the wonder of the alternate universe type of story. Doesn't matter in which universes Sam and Jack hook up in, I'm more than confident that in a lot of other universes, on the other side of the quantum mirror, there are worlds like this one, with the difference that we can get away with writing Jack and Daniel together *g*
Don't get me wrong, I love Sam, but really, I watch the show for entertainment and for the team, for the banter and the overall craziness... I don't mind people writing fanfic with whatever pairing they want. It's my prerogative to read or not. The show, however, I'd like to keep that on a non-romantic level, because I fear anything BUT that, will eventually ruin it. And that, above all else, would make me very sad, because I really do love this show.

Damn, I ranted for a LOOOOONG time today.
ningyouhime, is this what you needed me to say? LOL

Im not bothered by this episode becuse as you have said, it can easily be explained away, if you prefer slash to ship. Nicely put hon

Now see, the ending made me WANT to write Jack taking Daniel home to pamper him and Daniel getting more and more annoyed with him *g* because as much as he loves Jack, Jack in mothering-mode must be a pain in the ass (no pun intended, prob wrong kind of pain in the ass *eg*)
To me it's so damned plain and logical that I can't understand the 'shippers ^_~

*can't stay away from spoilers* ^_^
'ship? what 'ship?
*nods* indeed
I'll never be anything but a slasher and my OTP will always be Jack/Daniel
same goes for me, I will -never- see J/S ship, it just don't work (for me) *shrugs*

that would indeed be very sad :(
Re: *can't stay away from spoilers* ^_^
just wait -- everything the 'shippers were rejoicing about -- trust me, it feels so stiff and unnatural that it really doesn't come across as anything NEAR chemestry *g*
Re: *can't stay away from spoilers* ^_^
I loved the J/D scenes thou *g* (Jack to the rescue *s*)
Re: *can't stay away from spoilers* ^_^
Exactly -- there might not be that much J/D on screen, but what we got was sooo good *g*
