Setting a few things straight *g*

Seems a few people are afraid I'd actually LEAVE the SG fandom -- ::starts laughing:: I think I'll take that as a compliment.

What? Just because I'm moving into another fandom? Jeez, people -- I used to have several fandoms at the same time -- it's been a bit strange to basically only be in the SG fandom for so long. And to tell you the truth, I'm kinda afraid I might burn out on the fandom itself -- and if not that, then the people in it... no offense, but really, there's a reason why I'm going to go on no-mail or even unsub on a lot of my Stargate lists. I haven't quite decided which are going and which are staying-- so for the time being most are on digest.

I mean, I've enjoyed list life for a long time, but my inbox looks like a freakin' battlefield -- and that's on a good day... I think I might start doing what I did when I started on the sentinel fandom a little while back. Read recommended stories only plus by the authors I actually trust to not mangle the characters completely or give me an insulin shock beyond imagination.

I guess I kinda long for a community a bit like [livejournal.com profile] tsflashback for the stargate fandom... I know there are rec-communities out there, but something like this with a recomandation per day, where there's a person assigned for every day of the week for a specific period... Because I've really been enjoying [livejournal.com profile] tsflashback, found so many great stories without the hassle of wading through tons of bad ones.

::wanders back to the current SG fic::

ETA: Wow, seems Trillian finally agreed to log onto my yahoo account -- it normally crashes within ten seconds after I log on... So... those who aren't on either AIM or MSN and for some obscure reason wants to chat a bit, I'm now logged into yahell too LOL -- at least for the moment ^_~

Mmmm, every fandom should have a flashback community. I've found so much good stuff through the TS and dS flashback journals. They're great for huge fandoms that have half a million fics following Sturgeon’s Law.

Mmmmm, yes -- the concept is simple but a great help for both the old and the new fans in a fandom. I mean, most of the Senfic I've found on my own has been... less than impressive -- and I might just have given up if not for the flashback community.

Now, with SG? I'd just wish people would stop encouraging a certain ficwriter... -_-

You know, if ever there were one sentiment that seems to unite about 90% of the fandom? That would be the one. *g*

ROFL -- you're absolutely right.

A few of the groups will probably experience a major drop in members if I were to naje a guess from how much grumbling there has been lately.

Someone somewhere commented that she should be voted off the internet entirely... I'm not normally one for drastic measures, but now...? -_-

Multifandom is the way to go! It always gives me a happy to see people posting their Harry/Draco fics with a Daniel icon, and the like. :)

I find that I never leave old fandoms entirely. Last year, I still wrote in TXF, Star Wars, and X-Men. Not much, to be sure, but a bit.

I think I have more to say on this topic, but I have to go finish my Jeremiah eps now. *g*

::laughs::
Yeah -- and another great thing about multifandom is, if you have a story idea that doesn't quite fit one fandom, it might fit one of the others *g*

I haven't touched X-men in ages -- ::hides from [livejournal.com profile] swtalmnd, and somehow I know I'll never get back into Smallville. Andromeda? I doubt it. Stargate and now Sentinel have been the two fandoms where I've felt at home the most.

But yeah -- multifandom's absolutely wonderful -- because you minimize the risk of repeating yourself/plots ideas if you have a wider range of universes/characters to work with.

Enjoy your Jeremiah *g*

As someone who know what it feels like to burn herself out on a fandom due to sugary stories and bitter grudges, I'd say it sounds like a good idea to multifandom. Less risk of burning out completely, then, and it's much easier to get it all at a safe distance again :)

Uh-huh
I remember the short time I did Smallville only... ::sighs::
I can't even READ smallville anymore *g* -- yup, I definitely burned out on that one.

So, yeah, as it is now, I'm just glad to be back in multifandom again.
