Took me a while to figure out, but it's easier than the hazzle of making 'dolls' which is basically what these avatars are -- I've got a friend who makes dolls for a few fandoms and she spends ages on those little things *g*

flip through the categories until you find the clothes you want and click on the clothes and voila! the avatar changes clothes *g*

hm, it seems that a lot of the interesting links are only visible from some pages and configurations - I swear the menu changes and categories appear and disappear even though they were supposed to be at the same level in the hierarchy!
this is like the sandbook, ever-changing!
