Flights of Fancy
Sheppard gripped his controls, his only lifeline to sanity.
Orders were to fly this General to a hush-hush-secret base and had ended up doing some fancy flying to avoid being taken out by a ...flying squid?
And here he'd been, thinking the Antarctica was a nice, quiet place.
And the General? Took it in a stride, didn't even seem shaken. John figured he'd held himself fairly well, right?. It took a lot to shake Major Sheppard.
"How about we land for a quickie?"
This his cool slipped, heat rising to his face. Things had been so simple here, until now.

"Jack, where's the remote?" Daniel lifted a few magazines within reach, ever inch as lazy as the man taking up the other half of the couch.
"Dunno," Jack muttered, eyes closed.
"Jack, you had it last."
Jack frowned. "Look under the couch."
Daniel raised an eyebrow, then remembered their late night 'wrestle' for the remote. It sure hadn't ended up with them watching TV.
Daniel rolled over to hang down the side of couch, stopping dead as a pair of rough hands landed on his ass, appreciatively rubbing it through his jeans. Right, no need for the remote right now.

"Why do I listen to you again?!"
Daniel grinned as he shifted his position, straddling Jack's lower back.
"Because you'll love me licking this off afterward," he replied as he dipped the brush into chocolate paint. "Because you'll love doing this to me later."
Jack sighed contentedly in agreement.
Daniel looked down at the symbols. Oh, wrong line. He chuckled as he leaned down and licked the line off.
A shiver and a groan escaped the body underneath him.
"And," Daniel grinned. "Because you love me."
There was no comment, but Jack slid one hand back and squeezed Daniel's leg.

"Jim... take it easy, it's not a perp but the Commissioner." Blair's hand was solid on Jim's chest. "Just... dial it down or something."
"Dial what down?" Jim shot him a disbelieving look. "Chief, they're outing us for this little PR campaign of theirs." Jim gestured at the podium. "It's not like you can dial down idiocy!"
"It's for a good cause," Blair tried soothingly. "If we come out, maybe others on the force won't have to live with the pressure of being gay, the secrecy."
Jim sighed at the knowing looks around them. This wasn't going to be fun.

"Let me guess, car broke down?"

"Cell phone's dead? It's raining..."
"Yeah..."
"Chief..."
"*Don't* say it," Blair warned him as he hung up his wet jacket.
Jim shook his head. "Go take a warm shower, I'll heat the soup and then we'll go get warm in bed."
Blair's sour expression was replaced by a thankful smile.
"Sounds divine."
"I'm the senior detective."
"You're senior, alright," Blair grinned, fleeing for the bathroom, Jim hot on his heels.

"This was definitely your idea."
Daniel looked down at the smiling native. Aboriginal if he wasn't wrong and busy painting him and Jack for the night's festivities.
"No, Jack. You said this was an important treaty and to do whatever it'd take to secure it," Daniel said with a grin, eyeing Jack, who was dressed in little more than a loincloth.
"Hey, don't blame me for your ideas," Jack grumbled.
"I'm not blaming anyone," Daniel smiled, enjoying the view. "I'm just ...enjoying the cultural aspects."
Jack shot him a suspicious look but got nothing but an innocent smile in return.

"We can find a way to survive, Jack," Harry assured him as they surveyed the ruins.
"Unless we kill each other first," Jack muttered darkly.
"Now, now, Jack. We'll get along," Harry grinned slyly. "I know I'm not Dr. Jackson, but you can learn to love me."
"Yeah, well, let's not change our names to Adam and Steve yet, will ya?" Jack snorted, feeling the pang in his chest. Here he was, stuck God only knew how far from home with a man who pushed all the wrong buttons constantly.
Jack wondered idly why this sounded a bit like marriage.

"Gotta hand it to Harlan. Didn't take any shortcuts when he made us," Jack whispered into his ear.
"Would've been one long and very bo-boring eternity," Daniel agreed, his artificial body reacting like his memory told him his real one would've.
"Stamina's better," Jack chuckled.
"Yeah, you're the damned Energizer Bunny," Daniel grinned.
"Gives a new meaning to fucking like bunnies," Jack snorted.
Daniel didn't answer, simply letting the input from his neural net take him away for a while.

"Sir, please don't touch that," he said, in a tone that would in no way insult a superior officer.
"I wasn't going to," Jack said, an almost hurt expression on his face.
Siler shook his head. He could *see* the Colonel's fingers itching.
"You just don't like others playing with your toys," the older man sniffed.
"No sir, nor do you." Siler cringed.
All it got him was a quirky smile and laughing, brown eyes.

Daniel gave him an exasperated look. "I want to make it to the ceremony without you jumping my bones and ruffling my suit."
Jack raised an eyebrow as he watched Daniel licking his lips, staring at Jack's pristine dress uniform.
"Somehow I get the feeling you don't have to worry about being the jumpee," Jack grinned, subtly checking his watch. Plenty of time before they had to be at the church for Carter's wedding.

Sam pursed her lips, giving it some thought. "Like the time you wanted to place bets on Jack and Daniel doing the dirty?" she asked innocently.
"I still say they're doing it, but they're damned good at hiding it," Janet grinned, teasingly stroking a finger down Sam's neck, making the woman shiver. The boys weren't the only ones who playing that game.

Jacob leaned back in the chair, finally allowing himself to relax.
"I know it is strange, but I believe eventually you will grow used to it," Selmak's voice echoed in his mind.
"I'm light years away from home," Jacob smiled. "Everything I thought I knew has been turned upside down," he admitted. "Do you think we'll get along in the long run?"
"I do not know."
"I thought you were supposed to be terribly wise?" Jacob said softly.
"Even I can not foresee human fancy," came the teasing reply.
Jacob grinned to himself. The future looked bright and enticing alright.

McKay didn't answer.
John leaned against the wall, smiling. "One run-in with Ancient technology didn't scare you off."
McKay's sour expression turned to boyish delight. "Testing the field was definitely a *lot* of fun."
John pushed away from the wall, heading for the door. "Just be glad we got it turned off," he whispered, brushing lightly against McKay on the way out. "Or a few things involving 'touch' would be impossible."
McKay smiled, watching the Major walk away. When the man was right, he was right.

He hadn't really meant to do it, but one second he had Daniel blabbering on about some new find on P3X-whatever, the next he was pinned under Jack on the couch, lips sealed tighter than any airlock on the Prometheus.
He'd only *thought* about shutting Daniel up this way for years.
"Jack?" Daniel's voice was remarkably calm as they parted.
"Whatever it takes to shut you up," Jack grumbled.
"I don't think this will go over well in the field," Daniel grinned.
The smile on Daniel's face made Jack relax. Maybe he hadn't screwed up as royally as he'd thought?
