Hmmmm, how long would it take by car to get from Chicago to the Canadian border -- appx? I know, I could probably calculate it, but my brain's shutting down at the moment LOL -- might be because I took the power supply of the computer apart and accidentally breathed in a load of carbonized dush

Well, it mostly depends on how fast you drive. From Chicago to Minneapolis is roughly a 6-8 hour drive. Closer to 6 if you're pushing it, 8 if you're going the speed limit and hit traffic. From Minneapolis to Canada? It's been a while since I made that trip, but probably another 6 on top of that.

Hmmmm, thanks -- I think I have it figured out now LOL -- my problem is that distances over here are a lot shorter *g* than they are in the US -- we just can't go North in this country for more than 3-4 hours, because then you're gonna go *plop* right into the ocean. The joys of a small country ^_~

Chicagoan here, surfing in via friendsfriends....

The closest Canadian city to Chicago is Windsor, Ontario, which is right by Detroit. Chicago to Detroit is 5 or 6 hours (and you lose an hour due to a time zone change), depending on traffic and how much you stop, then you have to clear customs and go through a tunnel to Windsor. There might be a bridge, too, but when I went there I took the tunnel.

Hmmmm, that DID help yay! *g* -- I'm okay with geography as long as it's not American LOL -- just can't wrap my mind around those huge distances *g* Thanks ^_^

Hmmm, helped me very little -- I'm a moron when it comes to judging distances -- I mean, distances here are ... welll, let's just say this is a VERY small country LOL

[livejournal.com profile] nicci_mac made it for me -- I'm slowly dragging her into the fandom, kicking and screaming LOL -- and I'm reaping all the benefits ^_~ -- And yeah, that grin... makes me think less than pure thoughts LOL -- I'm sure it works the same way on Fraser *eg*

You need a version of that icon with the caption: "Impure thoughts"

But, it's lovely. My favorite CKR look.

^_^ thanks -- got it now -- I'm not good with judging distances in US terms -- first of all I don't get the miles (don't worry, I've got a converter for that), second, my mind refuses to wrap itself around such huge distances LOL
