SGU - wow...

...I should have known that TPB are 13-year-old boys sitting in a circle, dicks in hands, having a wank.

Wonder what it's about? Have a look at [personal profile] tex's entry here

I'm actually kinda happy to have given this show a miss.

Thanks for the link.

I don't watch the show and don't plan, too, and this is just one more reason to add to my list of reasons.

Huh, how odd. It's done it to me once before when I used semagic for the update. Hasn't done it in a while - might have been trying to lull me into a false sense of security XD

Thanks.

Are you using semagic to cross post to Dreamwidth by any chance?

If you have crossposting turned on over there, there's a bug in the code at the moment that seems to be causing it, i.e. at the moment posting it via semagic to DW also causes it to cross post to LJ (and insanejournal for me) again if you have cross posting turned on, while it never used to do that.

I keep meaning to report it but haven't yet.

Apparently it was a deliberate change. I've just had a response to me raising the issue.

Personally, I think it's a really bloody stupid one. Honestly. Apparently, it's for people who want to cross post but don't use a client that allows cross posting and don't want to post from the web.

So why the hell wouldn't DW allow an opt out for those of us who deliberately select and use a client that allows cross posting?

Not. Pleased.

read through the thread - guess I won't be giving SGU a try which is a shame, I do like Robert Carlyle. But not enough for that.

Thanks for advertising this.

You're welcome. It's not the first or worst shite I've heard about SGU, but it sorta accumulates and eventually I'm just happy to have given it a miss, yeah.

"....kinda happy to have given this show a miss."

Joins you in feeling vindicated when so many were encouraging the opposite...'just give it a look'
AND, I didn't give a flying fig if Joe did encourage us to watch.......He has a right to his belief that they were decent people, but I was right in mine that they were so much trash and looks like my feelings have been proven correct.
Given how they treated the SGA cast/fans,
used up and spit out, what else could you expect?
It has little to do with cancellation, although I would have liked to have seen it do as well as SG1, but how it was handled and the lies they told afterward to cover it all up,
e.g.
1) needs a darker/depth type story line..well they were heading in that direction in season five.....and nobody was belly aching about it were we?.....
2) no $$$$ for SGA films....they managed to find $$$ for SGU didn't they?
and a lot of other double talk
I mentioned on TEX that they underestimate us if they think we will just follow in line and join the drones who watch SGU weekly.
They can kiss my F-302 afterburner.

Heh, yeah - it's not like it's the first bad thing I've heard, but so far they're doing a good job of digging their own ugly grave.

digging their own ugly grave

Yeah no kidding. Last night was watching
another cable station and they had a clip
of SGU and I could not believe how 'ugly'
the men are on that show.........
In opinion they reflect the old saying:
"While beauty may be only skin deep, ugly
goes all the way to the bone"
And the men in SGU are excellent examples.

This morning I had a thought as to why they did the gratutitous boob scan - to raise awareness for Breast Cancer since October is dedicated to the cause.

On second thought ... naw...
