Oh yeah, and I just finished the episode. I mean, Mal's and Jayne's 'conversation'. His request to Mal that if he's dying, he doesn't want anyone else to know of his betrayal. That coupled with Simon's awe of Jayne's work planetside, not knowing WHAT Jayne actually did... just knowing that Jayne helped them out... -- I'm so in awe of this show...

It really is -- and I'm amazed that the characterization carries so much of the show. I like the whole crew, with their flaws and secrets. ^_^

That last scene is amazing! I always wondered what would happen if someone had overheard that, or if Mal had really let Jayne die. I've read a couple of AU fics where that happened and it was pretty interesting.

I think it's very in character for Mal to NOT toss him out the airlock, but if he ever pulls shit like this again, we all know, including Jayen, that he WILL be kicked out an airlock... in outerspace *g* -- I love that insight into the characters. Heck, I adore this fandom already LOL

::snicker:: Its hard not to adore Firefly. I agree with you, its totally such a Mal thing to do, kind of like when you're training a dog with a choke chain (which, when used correctly are okay, otherwise, no....anyway), one hard yank to get them back in line.

I love that Jayne had already decided to go back on his word though, about handing the Tams over. He's got a heart, sometimes he just has to dig really hard for it.
