I just got home from watching Serenity.
I am completely and utterly incoherent...

Oh boy, oh boy. I was torn between tearing something laughing and crying my eyes out. I mean, I knew about Wash, but... Book. Probably good I knew about Wash, or I'd have cried my eyes out ::sniffles:: -- I loved how his dinos were all lined up in the cockpit in the end ^_^ made me happy.

Also, I wonder. Is it because I'm used to Joss' way of thinking, or was it really so easy to figure the origin of the Reavers out? Not that it mattered, because it still hit really hard. I mean, it was a bit of cliché, but he used it in a good way. I think I figured it out when one of them mentioned that about 10 years earlier, the Reavers had just shown up.

The action sequences speak for themselves. They kick ass LOL

I was looking forward to seeing what someone mentioned about sex in the movie. There was sex? There was hinting, yes, and I think it's about damned time Kaylee got some. I mean, I was howling when she told Mal she hadn't had anything not powered by batteries between her legs the past year *g* -- And Mal's horrified expression. He really did NOT want to hear that ROFL. And of course Jayne was Jayne, saying he wouldn't mind hearing more ::sniggers:: Have I mentioned lately that I love Jayne? No?

I have to go watch it again. I'm kinda glad I went alone. I think if I'd brought anyone who didn't know firefly, I'd have spent time worrying if they GOT the whole thing -- and I'd've missed stuff, that's for sure.

So, did I like it? Fuck yeah! LOL. I don't even mind the het stuff -- not in this fandom. I'm normally a die-hard slasher, but... I can handle the het here LOL -- I was wondering, before I watched the movie, if I'd change my pairings. No, not really. I still prefer Mal/Jayne, just for the hell of it -- and Jayne/Simon when I want to mess with Simon's head LOL

Ah, bliss. I wonder if I'll be able to sleep.

Here recently, I've been liking Jayne/River, even though it seems she gets on better with Mal.

Heh, yeah. I must admit, I can handle nearly any pairing this fandom throws at me, perhaps anything but Mal/Zoë (Maybe it's because of the awkwardness in War Stories, who knows). And perhaps slashing Wash with anyone. Unless it's before he married Zoë. That man was so loyal I can't believe it LOL

And Jayne/River? I can see it, definitely.

I loved Firefly. And I saw it first weekend, so I did NOT know about Wash. Book, okay, I didn't know about that one either but it's Joss; you expect main characters to die. But WASH?!?! I heard/read it was the actor's suggestion - along the lines of the fans will never expect my character to die type of thing. I also heard that if there are sequels, Wash may appear in flashback sequences.

As for the whole batteries thing - I have a friend who loved the series and who wants her kids into SF and anime and stuff, so she brought the two kids ages 8 and 10 to see the movie with her and her husband. Apparently one of them asked her what nethers were, and why Kaylee would use something with batteries there. She just about died.

I know a couple of folks that got to see the pre-release *test* versions of Serenity, starting back in April and May, and I'm so thankful they were capable of keeping their mouths shut. The Wash & Book thing had me in tears! I saw it twice in two days the first weekend it opened here, and bith times it was a wonderful audience that appreciated it as much as I did.

Good news, the DVD will be out on Dec. 20th. Not sure of that's good for you or not, but hopefully one that works for you will be right around the corner.

I know, and I can order it so it's here on the 20th LOL -- I love the internet shopping thing *g*

And yes, several days later, I'm still high from the experience LOL
