X-men III -- a little more coherently, though still rambling on the characters...
I have to watch it again to really do this justice, but at least I can do some musings *g*
Wolverine
I like him still LOL
A little too obsessed with Jean still, but I like how he was caught between what he wanted and what Professor X wanted. Logan's one of the few heroes of mine I like seeing as a tortured soul. Maybe because it's nicely balanced with a loud mouth, sarcastic attitude and his hard-assed fighting *g*
Iceman
Ooooooooooooh. Bobby in his icy form. Not the best CGI work I've seen, but still, it was worth just seeing Icy the way we know him *g* (I still want Gambit -- I'm even considering writing movie-slash -- writing in a new 'student' at the school *g*)
Rogue
Booooring. Sorry, but she is in this one. I mean, I'd hoped she'd be around more for the movie, but she's not.
Cyclops
As with Rogue, he's used and cast aside in this story line. Actually, with him it's worse. I've never been a huge fan of Cyke, but at least I prefer a little more 'oomph' when he and Logan argue. Hell, I coulda written them a scene with a lot of brawling. Hey, I've been writing Jayne lately, so it kinda screws with my head LOL.
Still, seriously -- I wasn't too fond of their use of Scott.
Beast
Yay Hank!
Hehehe, Kelsey Grammar's actually good for this part and I do love how his voice works for Beast. It's just like I always imagined Hank's voice. Deep and melodious.
They get his personality pretty well too. With the new mutant cure around, he's bound to have his doubts as to ethics and personal yearnings.
He and Logan get along. Yeah, really... um, more or less LOL -- I love the banter.
Storm
Still not as good as the comic book version but at least she's more insistent/capable than she was in the two first movies. As good an actress as Halle Berry is, I'm not fond of her Storm. To me Storm is a capable woman, a strong woman and quite wise as well. I never liked the movie version all that much but at least, like I said, it's gotten better.
Jean/Phoenix
Don't tell me you hadn't guessed THAT. The special effects were okay, but that was about as far as I'd go. She seemed terribly empty in this one, maybe because she didn't say all that much.
Magneto
Oh yeah, baaaad to the bone *g* -- I really enjoyed the flash back they've done with him and Charles. They're arguing good naturedly, they're FRIENDS and it's wonderfully conveyed in the scene. Also, I love how you see the part of Magneto who WAS Charles' friend. When Pyro says he'd have killed the professor if Magneto had wanted it, Magneto just says that Charles Xavier did more for mutatants than anyone else ever. I love this glimpse of their friendship.
Jamie Madrox
Um... what's he doing on the wrong side of the law?
Professor X
A little more questionable as to his ways of handling things in the past. Yeah, it works. I like that they've given us the Xavier. Heck, we're talking about the man who mindwiped Magneto in the comic book, thus creating Onslaught. I can buy this version. Stil, I don't know why, but most of the characters felt a little flat to me. Don't know why.
Then again, we're talking about so many characters it's kinda hard to give them all equal time. I miss Nightcrawler, I want to see Gambit, dammit! Who said obsessed? Not me LOL
Calisto
I never liked her that much, but for this one... I don't know. She's a wee bit too hollow for me to like, though I enjoyed the Morlocks *g*
Arclight
Eh... what's Archlight doing with the Morlocks? She used to be part of the Marauders... *sighs* Yeah, yeah, I know this isn't the comic book universe, but they're confusing me WAAAAAY too much LOL -- and why the androgynous look? I wasn't sure if it was a guy in stockings and high heels or if it was a woman *sniggers*
Dislikes:
Although I'm not that fond of Cyke, I still don't like the way they used him in this movie. It seemed too... I don't know, Hey, we have this character here, we don't need him all that much, let's just... remove him. Bleh. Not the most original way it was used and there coulda been a wee bit more angst on Jean's behalf... really.

Injokes. So very many. And Logan calling Hank 'Furball' *g*
The FASTBALL!!!!! Yay! Nothing beats Collossus throwing Wolverine like a huge, living ball *g*
The stand they take against Magneto is so very comic book like that I just had to go 'yay' ...quietly. There were other people around trying to watch the movie LOL
And yes, dammit! I'm gonna go watch it again *g*

I wouldn't look twice at Hugh Jackman, but Logan? Hubba! We can say a lot about Hugh Jackman, but he makes a damned good Wolvie ^_~
