Meme of sorts...

Right, because Nicci thought since she was doing it, I should too *g*

If you can see this, please to respond by saying hi, my name is .... and I am addicted to.... or share some insane fact about yourself or life in general. Or simply ask some question you've always wanted answered.

Hi, my name is [livejournal.com profile] swtalmnd (pronounced "Amy") and I have a leopard-print chaise lounge. It was a gift.

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Is the leopardprint chaise lounge comfy? If that's the case, leapardprint is okay. Pretty much anything is okay, as long as it's comfy.

Not only is it insanely comfy, the fabric is incredibly soft and pettable. It's very 1984, but I'm OK with that.

Okay, here's one that pops into my head randomly - where the *hang* does your handle come from, and why did you choose it? I've maybe asked you this before, and you've answered, but if so - I've completely forgotten. What? It's an age thing :-(

Hi, btw - my name is Cats and I'm addicted to RDA and lentils. And cigarettes

ext_31419: (MISCH - convergence)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, the handle is an old supportive character in the first original piece I wrote -- started it some time in the late ninties, didn't finish the rough draft of it till 2003. It was a dragon, had a minor role in the plot but I sort of liked the name I'd given her, so I ended up adopting it for my own use - and I've never changed it, not even when I've changed fandoms.

As for your addictions -- I totally buy the RDA obsession and your cigarettes? I knew that -- having watched you brave a Scottish blizzard to get a bit of smoke XD

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
having watched you brave a Scottish blizzard to get a bit of smoke

Aye, I'm hardened ::sigh::

[identity profile] malnpudl.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi! My name is Mal, and I'm addicted to really good, strong black tea, music I can sing along with, slash, and hot, pretty men (especially, but not exclusively, if they're Canadian... or have ever played a Canadian... or had sex with a Canadian... the latter often only in my mind).

Not-so-random fact: You wrote the first RayK/Fraser story I ever read (the one where they kissed and made out on the couch; I forget the title). I'll always be grateful to you for that. *hearts*

Question: What was your very first slash pairing? What author popped your slash cherry, if you still remember?
ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, I see nothing whatsoever wrong with your addictions -- I see them as quite healthy, if I might be so bold *g*

Seriously? Wow, your first RayK/Fraser story? -- I think I remember that one, btw. It was done for a flashfic on LJ -- we were supposed to have them make out, instead of actual sex. I had the hardest time forcing the boys to stay clothed XD

My first pairing to read, was Jim/Blair from Sentinel if I recall right, a friend of mine showed me the way -- I can't remember who it was by, but it was a short vignette sort of thing. She shared some Fraser/RayK with me as well, but it wasn't till a good 4 or 5 years later I got into Due South. My first actual fandom and pairing were, well, it's odd, because I got right into three fandoms in the span of a few weeks. First Andromeda, with a Dylan/Harper story, which was my first, then X-men, comic book universe with Gambit/Iceman and shortly thereafter, Smallville with Clark/Lex *g*

Hi, my name is Nicci and I am addicted to pretty boys snogging, coffee, Canadian blueberry yoghurts and kittens
ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I'm with you on the snogging, the coffee and the kittens -- the yoghurt I like, but addicted, no. Actually, I can't see anything wrong with any of your addictions. Coffee's good for the muses, yoghurt's good for the stomach and boys snogging is good for the world in general XD

Hi, my name is Helene and I have a metal foil parrot balloon that's lasted for fourteen years (we think. Nobody in the family can remember when we brought it home from Italy, but fourteen years ago is our best guess). I keep it for good luck now. It's a pet that doesn't demand attention! :D
ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi Helene,

That is one very stubborn parrot, hanging on for so long *g* but I get it, it is a low level maintenance kind of pet *g*

[identity profile] sorciere.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely :D It was pure chance it survived the first move. When I moved into this apartment, I made sure to keep it away from anything sharp or pointy. It's going to be fun when I get cats someday. Maybe I'll tape it to the ceiling ...the ballon, not the cat *cough* But hey, it's an affordable pet for a student!

[identity profile] ladyivy.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Hi! My name is Ivy, and as I commented in [livejournal.com profile] nicci_mac's journal I am addicted to Chocolate and reading, and curling up on a couch with both of them for a lazy afternoon.

You were one of the first (if not the very first, I can't quite remember now) journals I put on my flist when I created a live journal account b/c I have been reading your website for years (my first slash fandom/pairing was Clex from Smallville, and it is still one of my favs)
ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, see, your addictions sound great as well -- really, no need to change a good addictions *g*

Wow, you've been around since then? I mean, I'm young in fandom years conpared to some people, but I do have some pretty good memories from the SV fandom so I'm glad to see you've stuck around ^_^

[identity profile] ladyivy.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I've been around that long. I didn't do comments for a looong time when I started a lj (not sure why, but I just didn't) so you probably didn't start registering me until I started reading due South (since that is when I really started getting interactive, making comments, and posting the occasional fic to communities), but it's been since Smallville.

[identity profile] luna-61.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hi my name is Luna or Chris or Tina or Christina, but don't call me Christine I get all riled up because that is not my name! LMAO

I am addicted to chocolate, Root beer, staying up late which is when I watch T.V. (mostly cable because I hate commercials), and reading about the pretty boys on the internet. : )

ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:04 am (UTC)(link)
Heh, I totally get the name -- my real one's Tina - and being called anything from Christina, Tine, Bettina etc... those aren't my names *g* - so I totally get you on that one.

Mmmm, root beer, -- it's been ages since I've had that -- they don't sell it here in Denmark :(

And as for reading about pretty boys? so with you on that one as well *g*

[identity profile] feather-autant.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
Hi, my name is Feather, and there are three things I simply can't live without. Caffeine, nicotine, and toilet paper. ::nods::

Oh, and most importantly? The 'net! Seriously, how did we ever live without it? Can you imagine? No instantaneous new fic! Not so much shared squee! Being all alone in the slash thing! ::squishes net close:: /g/
ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
*laughs*

I think the only thing I'm not with you on is the nicotine, but apart from that? Oh yeah! The thought of being net-less? Scares me like you wouldn't believe it. I know if I couldn't connect online, the world would feel big and scary -- with the net? It feels smaller and more intimate -- if that makes sense XD

[identity profile] kimuro.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, my name is Kathryn, not Kathy, not Kate.
I'd rather be early, I hate being late.
I'm addicted to reading, and at the drop of a dime
(or a phrase, or a thought) I'll break out in rhyme.
Not great poetry, not epic skreeds,
just doggerel spilling out at remarkable speeds.
Now as kimuro, or chimera by name,
I've always wondered, .. is your name the same?
ext_31419: (Default)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
If by name you mean my real one, it's Tina, my online handle? Used to be the name of a Dragon I created a decade ago as a minor character of an original fantasy story I started writing yay many years ago.

[identity profile] bertybertle.livejournal.com 2008-02-10 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Hi, I'm Berty and I'm becoming addicted to John Barrowman! DamnitALLtohell!
ext_31419: (TW - Jack - This is sex)

[identity profile] ximeria.livejournal.com 2008-02-11 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Hi Berty,

And welcome aboard -- and why do you say that like it's a bad thing? There's nothing wrong with an addiction to John Barrowman XD
