Question to my f-list

Are any of you journalfen users?

I requested and paid for a journal on Thursday and I still haven't heard from anyone -- and quite frankly, I'm getting a wee bit annoyed, considering asking paypal to return my payment if possible. Am I being too hasty or have I missed anything?

I have a JN, but I got mine for free. (It's a few years old, plus they have a community where anon users can get codes from paid users...)

I'm not sure what happened, but I know they're a very small shop. Not making excuses, just that I know there are about 2 people who run it, and it was a holiday weekend, so everything was a little weird this week.

Sorry to hear about your troubles :( Good luck!

Ah well, I'll wait until tomorrow night before trying to do something about it. Thanks ^_^

It does take a while, that's normal *g* but yes, it is only run by two people and part of it was probably the holiday weekend. They are very busy.

I'll be patient -- I guess I'm just so used to when I pay for something online it goes a wee bit faster XD -- Who said instant gratification is too slow? LOL

Lol! You get used to it *g* I'm in Second Life and I find an avatar or some clothes I REALLY like, get my money for them, and when I come to buy them the server packs up and the vendor takes my money but doesn't give me the item. Happens a lot *g* But we just IM the owners and they usually send us the object. Though I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me. Been waiting since thursday.

I have a paid account over there but haven't ever posted on it. Last week I did request a free account for someone and as far as I can tell, it's not been created yet.

I was thinking maybe someone was on holiday and I'd check with them in another day or so.

yeah, I will -- thanks -- It's not like I have any fanish stuff to post at the moment seeing as I'm procrastinating instead of writing XD

I've always found Robin at JF very, very prompt, both with JF enquires and problems I've had with my Slashcity site. I can only think it's because of the holiday; if you haven't heard anything by the end of tomorrow (US time, obviously, since that's where they are), I'd email them again and I'm sure Robin'll hook you up.

Yeah, I'll dig a bit deeper tomorrow night before I head off to bed -- though I've had trouble finding any contact information on the site -- half of the time getting 404 error msgs.

Yeah, it can get tricky if you don't know you're way around. I'm still learning all the nooks and crannies myself! Try emailing support @ ckrhosting.com - that's the address I last used to speak with Robin. She helped me out with a faulty RSS feed or two that I was setting up for [livejournal.com profile] oxoniensis and was very good about the whole thing. Also, Robin's personal journal is here (http://www.journalfen.net/users/robin_serrano/profile).

Good luck! I hope you manage to sort something out. If nothing happens, I could put in a journal request for you, and then you can contact them about the payment you've already made. Might be easier to find them with full access to the site. OR! If you let me know the username you requested, I can put in an enquiry at priority support (http://www.journalfen.net/users/prioritysupport/) and try to find out what's happening that way.

See, that's the problem. That email bounces when I send to it. I've tried to find somewhere to ask, but there's nowhere I can seem to find. I've even tried the password retrieval, where it says, success, the password has been emailed -- though there's still nothing coming through. I used my ximeria@popullus.net mail specifically because very little goes into the spamfilter on the server. So yeah, I'm getting slightly annoyed now.

[identity profile] littledrop.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll ask at priority support for you, and give them your email address. I'm doing it right now, in fact. I can't think why they'd be taking so long with this. It seriously is the first time I've ever heard of somebody having problems.

*hugs you tight*
Hey, thanks -- it's just I wouldn't have expected it to be so much trouble either.

[identity profile] littledrop.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not a problem! One of the things I love about JF is how helpful people are with things like this, so I'm happy to spread it around. I'd have been lost without [livejournal.com profile] mlleelizabeth over there. *g*

[identity profile] littledrop.livejournal.com 2008-03-26 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, what I've done is made a journal request at priority support, and given them all the details of your situation in the "Additional notes" section. Every single person I've made requests for in the past has had the info within the day, so fingers crossed something will come through for you.

And it worked -- I don't know why for some reason it didn't want to send me my password -- but with some niggling I've now got it ^_^ -- Thanks.
