You want a surefire way to throw me out of a Merlinfic?

1. Telling me, in the opening paragraph, that Merlin's shorter than Arthur. Telling me that it's a difference in heights that is noticeable.

2. Writing it as if Merlin's really skinny, bordering on anorexic... Um... have you SEEN Colin Morgan? They dress him in a way he might look a little on the skinny side but he's actually fairly normal in build.

Actually.

Apply the same two things to TW and Ianto Jones.

I'm so with you on that.

I actually used that as an excuse to conduct a 'scientific' study that forced me to rewatch all of the episodes so that I would be able to judge the respective heights of the boys.

I have come to the conclusion that if Merlin ever stopped hunching slightly and stepped next to Arthur they would either be of the same height or Merlin even a little bit taller.

As for 2. Obviously a number of people really need to rewatch the pilot (I would include in that all the people who go on and on about Merlin's hairless chest...)

Oh yes, that drives me crazy. Series 2 Ianto is NOT skinny (Series 1 Ianto on the other hand...). John and Gareth ARE THE SAME HEIGHT.

Not long ago I saw some pics of Colin and Bradley at an event which gave photographic proof of who's taller.
