The first half of the root canal treatment on monday was okay. Only a mild pain from where the anesthetics were injected. Annoying enough, but nothing compared to the
OMFG PAIN of today.

It comes and goes. But the final treatment? I'd rather go a round with a vampire than go through that again. And yes, I have another one done on june 18th... *cries*

Andromeda
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I was watching the show and found fanfic by Viridian5. I realized that OMG... Maybe I could... And yeah, this is the fandom that popped my cherry XD
2. Do you think that you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I've long since moved on, even if I sometimes sneak back to read a story or two. I doubt I'll ever write in it again, or participate fannishly in it. I might occasionally do a drabble if I feel the need, but as such, no. Water dried under the bridge.
3. Favourite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
It's hard for me to remember these days, but there's an episode in S1 where they hide near a sun, where Harper's working his butt off for Dylan, where he's seriously damaging his own life in the process. But he's dead set on doing what Dylan's asked of him.
It ties a bit with one of the eps in early S2 - where they've redone the bridge of the Andromeda and Harper's showing it off -- I'm not sure who's more proud of it, him or Dylan. You get brownie points if you can guess my favorite pairing XD -- but I never watched more than halfway S2, then I lost interest.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fan fiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not anymore. I took part in one or two discussions back then, but it was a fandom for which I wrote one fanfic and a whole hell of a lot of feedback *g*
5. Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
Ah... eh... probably not XD
X-men (comicbook universe)
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
See, I used to read het fic in this fandom, way before I knew what the hell fandom was XD. Leave it a few years and while trawling Viridian5's website for Andromeda fic, I stumbled upon her x-men stuff. Read it, was hooked, followed her to Te, I think, and then the hunt for fic began.
2. Do you think that you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I think it's one of those fandoms I can't leave behind. I might not write or read anything in it for years and then the plot bunny sinks its teeth into my ankle and BOOM, I have a story that's nagging to be writing XS
3. Favourite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Favorite comic book under the X-men. I think my alltime fav was "God Loves, Man Kills". Apart from that, I absolutely love the bent out of shape AUs that Marvel will dish up. I seem to especially like the darker ones, such as Days of Future Past, though even more so Age of Apocalypse. The more twisted a timeline becomes, the better.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fan fiction, graphics, discussions)?
I never took part in discussions. I did sketches and fanfic. That's it.
5. Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
It's a fandom with an upside and a downside to it. If you choose to follow cannon, you'll get a headache, if you choose to build-your-own, some fans might not like it. As it is, it's a fandom where I've found a high tolerance of the latter, though. It's not like Marvel fucks its own timelines over just for fun sometimes.
Merlin
1. What got you into this fandom in the first place?
I seem to recall someone sharing an episode or 9 (during the S1 run on BBC) - and a few weeks later I had not only watched all 13 eps, but was squeeing with the rest of the gang.nora_charles had mentioned it to me, but I think my reaction was sticking my fingers into my ears and going lalalalalalalalalalalaIDON'TNEEDANOTHERFANDOMlalalalalalalalalalalala. Just goes to show how much I know, NOT.
2. Do you think that you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
Good question. Either I get tired of the fanatic fans sometime during S2, or it'll be a bit like with X-men -- I can't quite let it go.
3. Favourite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
Oh goodness. For a slasher this show has too many options XD - I love the Poison Chalice - Because Arthur shows that he's a man and that his loyalties lie with the bonds offriendship love. I love the ep where they go back to Ealdor, because once again, Merlin's not on his own. I love how they keep risking their lives for each other.
4. Do you participate in this fandom (fan fiction, graphics, discussions)?
Yes LOL -- Mostly fanfic, a sketch, and I occasionally get dragged into various convos about the characters and the show.
5. Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
I'm torn between yes and no. Yes, because it's crack and everyone needs it and no, because I don't want the fandom to grow so big it'll implode and leave hurt people all around.

Root treatments can be a real pain in the ass. I always find the treatment itself not so bad at all. But the irritation of the nerves during the treatment can seriously make me scream later when the anesthesia wears off later.
Though with really good pain killers it should be over in a day or two. And ice packs do wonders.

According to my dentist this can take up to 6 months! Hope it's not gonna take that long for you, because that can get really annoying. And I know that first-hand.
