Scottish Delights July 3rd, 2010

Friday went very well all though the flight was a bit turbulent right before the landing. We were a bit delayed and combined with the fact that Nicci got out of work earlier than expected (thanks bossman!) I didn't have to wait all that long for her to arrive. Let's not mention the fact that her aim was off and she went into parking instead of pick-up/drop-off point... erm, yeah, she spotted me and off we were, leaving the airport behind.

The evening was pretty low key - went up with Nicci and her hubby to the pub for a beer, she and I went back home, did half the dishes and yeah, crashed XD

Saturday, now that's a differnt ball game/kettle of fish.

Killin - Falls of Dochart

Saturday morning Nicci woke me up with coffee and then we were off, detouring around ASDA's, then off to Edinburgh to pick up [livejournal.com profile] catspaw_sgjd then heading North through Callendar to Killin and the Falls of Dochart.

I'll let the images speak for themselves *g*

Driving home

Anywho, we came, we saw, it rained and we got wet. Had packed lunch and drove down, pit stopping at Loch Earn.

It was a fab day, but of course it meant crashing when we made it up to bed. Nicci tends to sleep earlier than I do, so I put my headset on and finished listening to the podfic version of [livejournal.com profile] seperis's "You'll get there in the end (it just takes a while)". She chose to roll over and snore in my ear during the sex scene in the story. Thanks, Nicci *grumbles*

Right, today's a bit low key and tomorrow we've planned to head up into the town and have a wander about **g**

Aye, it were a grand day out and no mistake!

And I wasnt snoring - I was just adding sound effects to the sex scene. I was being spock. I figure he would be a grunter!

Yeah, right!
That was not a sexy noise!

Lovely! That river looks like a good place for dippers too.

Heh, prob not - it's water coming down from the mountains so it's really cold **g** - but it's a wonderful place, though your ears start ringing after a while because of the noise of rushing water.

I think we might be at cross-purposes here - I was talking about these birds (http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/d/dipper/index.aspx) which like to hunt in fast-flowing upland rivers :-)

*laughs*
that's what I get from being too lazy to drag a dictionary out *g*

There probably are some of those. It's a beautiful area and if we'd had more time (and it hadn't poured down when we got there *g*) we'd probably have gone down the stream - there was a lovely path there.

My fault - I assumed that since you'd been to Scotland several times, you'd have seen or heard about them. I should know better than to assume things :-)

We were lucky enough to see several dippers in Dovedale in Derbyshire.

*g* - it's a great place - I went there a couple of years back and it's every bit as beautiful and wild as I remembered it.
