Weekend update, running update and would someone take my brain and straighten it out a bit?
Hello peeps.
*yawns*
sorry. *grins sheepishly*
I just got in from running and there's one thing that's for sure, I hate running when it's that time of the month. My body does NOT enjoy it unlike the rest of the month XD
So, yeah, right, weekend. Had the Friday off and Nora and I went off toward Staden (Copenhagen). Day started well, we had coffee at the train station, got on the train - only to find that the railway service (and I use that term losely) had double booked all the seats XD - oh shut up. Seriously, the train personnel didn't even come through to check tickets - it was pure havoc.
Well, at least the weather was good. We left the luggage at the station and set off sightseeing a bit. Ate dinner at a vegetarian restaurant (RizRaz) - it was good, but I have to admit I was missing meat by the end of the day XD (Skuf did serve chicken - it helped a great deal *g*). We eventually went back to the station, picked up our bags and headed off for the bus that would take us to Skuf's place. Exeterlinden joined us in the evening (that woman gives me stress - I'm amazed she hasn't burned herself up! Apart from that, her high level of energy and joy is very contagious *g*)
Eventually Exeterlinden went home and Skuf, Nora and I went to bed. We had a parkrun to participate in the next day. Which taught me a hell of a lesson. I do not run in the morning. EVER. I know people keep telling me that it feels so good, that it's a fab way to start the day. My boss keeps telling me this as well.
Me? Nu-uh. Forget it. I feel like shite when I run in the morning XD (didn't help it was that time of the month as well, because my body decided it was not having it XD) - I know it's weird, but I seem to run just fine when I'm on my own, and when I make sure to do it on a day where I've come home from work. I guess it's my body's way of telling me that it's okay when it's nice and warm already from a day of work to just keep going and doing the run - actually it helps me come down and a shower later I feel absolutely fabulous. Today was running 28 mins without stop. No problem. It's done, with around 3.25 km.
So, decision made, so not running in the morning XD
So, saturday we met up with Exeterlinden at Kabal's place to watch Enemy Mine. Oh goodness, I haven't seen that film in... yeah. Let's say many years and leave it at that XD - it was even more beautiful than I remembered it. All the alien landscapes were breathtaking and it was pretty damned funny seeing Lou Gosset jr. in that much makeup and Dennis Quaid so young you wouldn't believe it. It was actually very well made considering it's from the mid-80s.
So, of course we watched vids afterwards *g* and since I was going to stay over at Kabal's place from Saturday to Sunday, we watched Merlin when the others had gone home. It's a joy watching it with someone who enjoys it as much as you do and who is perfectly fine about being as shallow as you are about naked Bradley James XD - I mean, I love you guys, but there's only so much SGA I can handle - and I'll never find Sheppard's arse half as interesting as I find Arthur's chest or Merlin's cheek bones XD (I already said I was shallow!) - I'm just happy some of you share my love for Kirk and Spock as well *g*
Sunday we slept in (at least Kabal and I did *g* - we're not a good influence on each other when it comes to going to bed early, that's for sure LOL). I also shared the bed in the morning with Kashmir (the cat) - met up with Skuf and Nora (who are way more morning people than we are and they'd made lunch *g*). We met with them at Nationalmuseet and after lunch, Kabal headed off for a metting, Skuf, Nora and I spent hours running around the museum (after a cup of coffee of course *g*). Exeterlinden joined us late in the afternoon (jeez, woman. When do you rest/sleep?!). Then we headed off to a chili restaurant, rendevoused with Kabal on the way and had dinner. Good dinner *g* - then we swung by a cafe to get more caffeine and talk even more fannish stuff. Eventually it was time for Nora and I to head back to Odense and I have to admit, it's never fun to split up after a few days of fun.
So, yeah, came home late Sunday evening, read some fic and went to bed. Last night? I was GOING to go to bed, but downloaded Angry Birds for my mobile and... erm... let's not mention when I eventually headed off to bed. Work's currently okay, but I'm definitely feeling the stress of knowing the new IT system is going to be installed in a few weeks. However, the advantages of it is going to outweigh the stress by so much it's ridiculous LOL
I also brought home a book I have to admit I did order last week. Simon Pegg's biography *g* - what can I say, I'm a sucker for Sean of the Dead and Hot Fuzz so how could I not buy it?
I'm right now feeling disgustingly chipper. *snorts*
I also have the most mutated crack-bunny to ever walk the warped hallways of my brain O.o - since it's almost Halloween, my brain decided that a good idea to come up with was to take the full moon/werewolf myth and plot the most crazy idea I've ever had. Let's say it's a Trek AU (reboot). Kirk turns into a woman on a full moon, back to a man when it's not a full moon. With me so far? It would definitely give him problems keeping a steady love-life *grins* - so Kirk, on a night of a full moon, as a woman, somehow ends up with Spock, they end up having sex, and Spock happens to find Kirk's mind the most intriguing ever, but the next day the young woman is gone and he can't find her. Cue sometime after the movie, during the first 5 year mission. While Kirk remembers Spock and is dead scared that he'll ever find out. Now, out in space, there's no influence of the good old moon (shut up, I know there are other moons out there, but the werewolf myth isn't exactly logical either XD) so Kirk stays male.
And it's all okay until Spock and Kirk mind meld at some point and Spock is confuzzled that he recognizes the mind but not the person. Now, Kirk's pretty much given up finding someone who'll take him, man or woman in shape. Someone write me this, write me this piece of crack, because I sure ain't touching it with a ten foot pole XD - write them back on earth and let it be a full moon so Kirk is trapped in the female body when they leave again - nevermind what Starfleet might say, it's CRACK!
Right, erm, that's me heading off, because I'm scaring myself now XD

Tak for sidst, it was really hyggeligt :o) !
Did you forget a small bottle of shampoo? Will put it in front of my dvds, and try to remember to bring it!
I feel like I'm still catching up on sleep after the weekend, but I also haven't been super-good at getting to bed at a reasonable hour. It's a very fine window, the going-to-bed window - too early, I can't sleep, too late I can't sleep, tsk-tsk.
His arse really isn't what keeps us coming back, *g*.

I started reading Blackout, the first book in Connie Willis' new Oxford time travelers series, today, and it's very amusing and wonderful so far. Did I ever lend you To Say Nothing of the Dog?
