A bit of everything

Not much fun feeling like you're hungover - for more than a week. I'm getting the feeling I'm, at best, coming down with a head cold that won't let go, at worst, I'm due my bout of flu (I get hit every five or so years). It makes it damned hard to get anything done, at work, at home, online *shrugs and sighs*

So, that explains my spanking new icon - I fear it may get used more than I'd like it to. Work's kicking my arse - mainly because I'm trying to get used to the new IT system at work. I'll get there, but I spend more time answering questions from co-workers than catching up on invoices and customer orders, which stinks and it's the one thing that tied me to work from 9AM to 8pm twice last week (I normally get off work around 5.30 PM). I foresee the same this week - and the bloody cold doesn't exactly make it any easier. A constant pressure on my skull, dry eyes and congestion - normally I can handle those symptoms fairly easily, but fact is, piled on top of all the other shite, I occasionally feel like curling up in a corner, rocking back and forth while making whimpering noises.

That said, I refuse to go down without a fight *snorts* - I've spent the first half of the day asleep, the afternoon was spent reading my newest comic book - I caved in December and ordered Astonishing X-men through work - roughly 670 pages and written by Joss Whedon. I regret nothing. I read half before bed last night, the other half when I finally rolled out of bed today. It's typical Whedon style - it rips your heart out and forces you to admit you're loving every step of it. Also, Cassaday's artwork is drop dead gorgeous and it doesn't hurt the format that it's a giant hardcover with dust cover and all ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I got House of M (1-8) as well, but I'm putting off reading that one - after the 670 page monster I don't think I can do it enough justice when reading it - nothing will live up to A X-men in the next couple of days - it's gonna take me a bit to digest that one. However, I've had an itch the last few days that I almost didn't recognize - it's been that long. Reading X-men comic books again, means my sketching muse is rubbing herself up against just about anything she can get close to (she's always been a very cat-behaviour kinda muse - fickle as one too).

Can't promise anything will come of it, but I am ridiculously pleased to see her again (She's always been a great de-stress muse as well - another cat like trait).

Yesterday's Headtrip cracked me up - for no other reason than I own one as well, and I've had the odd bust of 'wonder if it might work on...'

*sniggers*
