Danish Invasion of Scotland, day 5

And we're up to the photos I haven't posted previously. I'm sorry about doing the double posting of the photos from the first couple of days, but I needed to get down in writing what we had been doing those days.

So, here we are, on the fifth day.

Picture count: 22 pcs.

Right, so Monday we had gone out to borrow the bike that Nicci had aquired for me. Nice bloke, nice bike and I'm still huffed that I didn't get to go out more often on it. Mostly because the days I had time for it, it decided to rain... *rolls eyes*

Anyway, Tuesday. Nicci gave me a lift to the beginning of the Kingdom of Fife cycle route. I think now I wouldn't have trouble finding it on my own, but it was nice to have a guide for it *g*. She left me and the bike to fend for ourselves and headed off to work. The weather wasn't too bad. Actually it was perfect weather for a bike trip. The sun wasn't shining, which was a blessing, but it wasn't raining either. And of course, it gave some pretty strange light, but I didn't mind. I would have hated for the sun to be shining, because it would simply have been too hot.

Looks easily enough, eh? Right. Well, it wasn't.

The first part of it was a bike path, paved, like the ones we have here. I was supposed to keep an eye out for a place to go off it. I didn't find it. Found one later though it turned out it didn't get me to Crossford like the one I'd been looking for, but about half a mile further west. Which confused me to no end until I found out it was Cairnyhill I'd ended up in. That would be why none of the road names on the map matched... *chuckles*

I want back up the path hoping to figure out what'd gone wrong, but I couldn't find the right path and ended up going 'screw that' I could just go from Cairneyhill the direct way to Crossford. Which I did and got back on the path. Really, the route should be marked out better. Thankfully, when I got a little further south, it was. *sighs contentedly*

At least for a while.

The clearly marked out path took me through Charlestown and Limekilns, right along the coast. There's barely a few hundred meters between the two towns. I stopped right there in the middle, admiring the view of the ocean.

Purdy view, purdy skies and the temperature was just right

In Limekilns is where I got off the paved road. Not that it was all that bad. For most of that part it was easy enough to follow the path. It was actually well-paved on some stretches. It followed the coast for a bit, then turned inward into the land.

Path just got a whole lot more fun and pretty LOL

Thanks to the map I'd borrowed I did find my way back, but not without getting on some pretty iffy looking roads XD -- nettles I tell you. Nettles. And there was a dog who took an unhealthy interest in me. Thankfully, it seems dogs in Scotland are better behaved than they are here... so I got past with just the fright.

So, I got back before Nicci got off work and had a bath and hung out with the rest of the Clan. In the evening Ben decided to go to a friends place and much to Nicci's consternation, he took his lappy with him. She had designs on the thing for Wednesday night, which I'll explain about in the next post concerning the next day.

I think we just vegged out this night. I think we actually watched The Neverending Story this night, but I could be mixing the evenings up LOL

There are 22 photos from this day and they can be found here
