Danish Invasion of Scotland, day 6
Just a nice day with a lot of walking in the Glen (Pittencrieff Park)
Picture count of the day: 19

I caught a ride with Nicci into Dunfermline in the morning. The weather was fantastic, and we were now being slightly supersticious. It seemed that whenever I took Nicci's raincoat along, it didn't rain... so I had it with me this day *g*
I went about town for a while, had a cup of coffee at the baker's and went shopping for lunch that I then brought with me down into the Glen.
I went around the Glen to see what was there, but although it was pretty, the newer part of the Glen is simply too trimmed for my liking. I mean, it's a nice enough place to sit for a while, but that's about it.
The flower garden however, I enjoyed very much.

Still, I went back into the older part of the Glen and found some pretty interesting paths.

A bit on the steep side, but it was fun exploring the place.
On the way back up from the older part of the Glen, I met this little fellar. He was tame enough to come up to me and take a biscuit and in return he allowed me to take a photo of him. He's the first squirrel I've seen that actually 1. sat still long enough for me to take a shot 2. didn't turn his but at me when I did manage to take a picture...

Munch, munch.
I went back up into town and bought a sketchpad. It wasn't only thing, though. No, no. There was a bookstore and they had a sale of 3 for the price of 2... right. I came out with the seventh book of the Dresden files which I didn't have and Thud! and Going Postal by Pratchett. Yes! I'm back to reading Discworld again after a long break.
After that my belly explained to me that lunch would be a good idea. So, off I was to the Abbey House to see what they had.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm mushroom soup, creamy and good with bread ^_^
My stomach satisfied and humming happily (me, not my stomach!) I set about exploring the small garden.

Pretty place and very quiet
For a while I tried to catch a bumblebee with the camera. They are faster than you might think!

Managed with the macro setting. I love the offsetting colours of the flowers against the furry body
So, I met up with Nicci back at work as did Kailyn to catch a ride back home. We got home and insanity ensued. The day before Ben had gone over to a friend's place and although Nicci had asked him if he was sure he didn't want to stay another day he'd said no and only brought clothes for one stay-over. Right, so we got home and yes, he'd called and yes, he'd like some more clothes *g*
Seriously, Nicci talked to him and bribed him into yes, she'd come over with the clothes if she could have his laptop for the evening... I'm shocked... *laughs* Nah, not particularly. I'd bribe my kids as well because that laptop is too cool *g* -- hey, it's got a cardreader for the type of memory cards we have in our cameras!
Anyway, she asked if I wanted to come along, to see the area around Kelty. The weather was fabulous and ofcourse I wanted to, even if we were baking cinnamon rolls later, before
catspaw_sgjd came over for the evening.

Benarty. Quite the landmark, but of course no match for Glen Coe as Nicci explained.
I was still suitably impressed XD
So yeah, there we were, had the house mostly to ourselves, three slashers with a laptop each... Heh. It was geek convention. Not so much as to slash, but I think we talked so much HTML coding that most people would've just left us alone. Which they did *g*
