I tried to explain to a friend today why I prefer writing homoerotica.

I came up short. How the heck should I explain it? I mean, I do have vague ideas why. I like the m/m dynamics and the challenge of writing guys. Also, being a tom-boy, I like doing boy things -- you know, I used climb trees, run around doing stupid shit *g* - generally very physically active things.

I also like the mental image of two guys together. Nothing wrong in that.

So, everyone. Why do you read/write homoerotica? I'm just curious, as to how you'd answer explain it to someone who doesn't normally read that genre.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in with the question of the line:

'There's no place like home'

My collegue was doing something for her class in marketing where they were supposed to find an ad that just didn't do what it was supposed to. Something that fell flat. She had an ad/poster thing for the National Geographic channel. It was something about a series on natural disasters. It said:

Volcanos
Tsunamis
Tornados

There's no place like home.

I think the problem was the line had been translated into Danish -- the only thing that made me go Oh! was the ruby slippers above the text. It just doesn't ring the same kind of bell in my language LOL. It didn't really work until I realized it was most probably an ad translated from English... and then the bells rang like you wouldn't believe it XD

So, thank you to everyone who helped out. Now, the rest of you? Did everyone else, even the non-American folks, go 'Wizard of Oz' when they saw the 'There's no place like home' line? Feel free to comment below and let me know where you're from. ^_^ Now I'm just plain curious LOL

Just a quick one, seeing as I'm trying to catch up on a backlog of proportions at the moment.

I've got a question from a co-worker I kind of need some American input for.

If you were to see the line:

'There's no place like home'

on for example a poster or anywhere, really. What does it make you think about/remind you of?
